Picture wise, seems to me there is a lot of contrast on it, probably it is because of my uncalibrated screen. :) If not, then probably, you can brighten up the subject a bit (fort gate) to bring out the details. Composition, probably it was cropped to tight. Zoom out or stand back a few feet to capture the whole area. Use wide lens will be great.
